Ingredients

Scale

Filling Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie or leftovers)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

Assembly & Topping

  • 1 (8 oz) can Pillsbury crescent dough or equivalent puff pastry
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or ranch seasoning)
  • Extra shredded cheddar cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and finely chopped green onions. Mix thoroughly until the filling is smooth and well-blended.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent dough or puff pastry onto a clean surface. Press seams gently to form a flat sheet. Cut the dough into squares large enough to hold a spoonful of filling without spilling during baking.
  3. Assemble the Bombs: Place a scoop of the chicken mixture in the center of each dough square. Fold the dough over the filling, pinching and sealing the edges tightly to form neat pockets.
  4. Season and Brush: Brush each sealed bomb with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder, ranch seasoning, or extra shredded cheddar cheese on top as desired for enhanced flavor and an appealing golden crust.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Arrange the bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, until puffed, golden brown, and crispy on the outside.

Notes

  • Use finely shredded chicken for an even-textured filling.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent bombs from bursting during baking.
  • Seal edges thoroughly by pinching or pressing with a fork to keep filling contained.
  • Brushing with melted butter enhances browning, richness, and flavor.
  • Allow bombs to rest for a few minutes after baking to let flavors meld and avoid burns.
