Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: Brown the ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks, until fully cooked and no longer pink.
  2. Mix the Filling: Drain any excess grease from the cooked sausage. In a bowl, combine the sausage with softened cream cheese, Rotel tomatoes and green chilies, shredded cheese, and optional spices. Stir until well blended.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate it into individual triangles.
  4. Fill and Roll Bites: Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each dough triangle. Roll up towards the point, sealing the filling inside by gently pinching the edges.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Arrange the rolled bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown and puffy.
