Crescent Dough
- 1 package of crescent roll dough (buttery, flaky base)
Seafood Filling
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1 cup fresh crab meat
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley or chives), minced
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Prepare the Seafood Filling: Finely chop the cooked shrimp and fresh crab meat. In a bowl, combine the seafood with cream cheese, shredded cheese, minced herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined and creamy.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready to bake your crescent bombs to golden perfection.
- Assemble the Crescent Bombs: Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean flat surface and separate the triangles. Spoon a generous amount of the seafood filling onto the wider end of each triangle. Carefully roll the dough towards the point, sealing the edges to trap the filling inside.
- Bake to Golden Perfection: Place the stuffed crescent rolls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between each. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the crescent bombs to cool for a few minutes to let the filling set slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Pat the shrimp and crab dry before mixing to prevent sogginess.
- Use a little water on dough edges to seal and prevent filling leaks.
- Do not overfill to avoid bursting during baking.
- Brush melted butter on dough before baking for extra golden crust.
- Make the filling a day ahead for deeper flavors and quicker prep.
